Essay Research/ Things for Network Diagram..Among other things

I was trying to think of local creative outlets in Derby where I split my time between Home and Uni, when I remembered about the Quad Centre opening some time ago now. So I went on the website see print screen:

Here I found about an online magazine as an creative outlet in Derbyshire called HATCH'D Out. Here is there main website

and I also decided to follow them on twitter so that I could add them to my network diagram.

Through finding this magazine on the Quad Website I discovered that Hatch'd is run by Holly Booth. She has a team of  7 people who all help run the magazine in their spare time. I had a look at all the names and the people who stood out for me was Samantha Eynon and Katherine Cory. I will be looking into Katherine Cory as one of my local practitioners.

Week 1 - Three Websites

First post of the new year and yet again I have got technical problems and other complicated problems lol. I have currently got no computer of my own and the home computer really does not like interactive or flash websites much. Basically doesnt like hardwork. lol. 

The purpose of this website is to showcase a creative porfolio using inventive techniques to let the user play with the website at their own choice.   

• Good - I love the fact that this website when you click on a picture it pops up as a seperate window on the website so it lets you focus in a small box rather than eyes wondering around the full screen.

• Disadvantage of this website is just the fact that the flowers at the bottom pop up over the numbers the different pages and any text that appears occasionally that far down on the website.

Three Versions Of Animation Ride

First Version with an edited picture for the front of the house using a screenshot of the outside of the house in 3d Max and was edited in photoshop. I edited like a an old house to help people visualise what could happen to an abandoned house after years and years. Ghosts ? People wandering in ?



This is an edited version of the animation with sound. The sound is a mixture of a scary low drone to a build up and the sound of wind.

Ideas For Soundtrack and finding out how long the film is meant to be

Research: The module brief says the film has to be a max of three minutes. However as we are the last film group to be doing film this academic year I had a quick look on reflective journal at the other groups who had filmed to see how long they had done them for.  I had seen 5 minutes on a few of the journals so I can see that people have gone over the time limit so expecially with our script ticket we need the extra time due to alot of dialogue.

Director Have Been Researching Romantic Music For Backing Soundtrack:

For the soundtrack we decided to have a soundtrack without words as we thought this would ditract from the actors dialogue meaning the film when whatched would be distracting and the audience would not be able to concentrate and connect with the plot and characters.   

We both looked at a few websites but quite a few have music with words and some had not much variety of music without words. Finally we found this website  http://live.freeplaymusic.com/#highlight=4 started looking at both romantic and classical music to broaden the search pool. I suggested classical to be searched with romantic as it can be seen as quite soft peaceful music and also it can be seen as abit more lively. It can relate to romance quite closely as romance can be seen to have these qualities. 

We decided to have three parts to the music - beginning, middle and end. 

Beginning - Peaceful ( this is for the scene where lisa is saying her voice over at the start of the film).

Middle - Happier (this is for the main part of the film where filming takes place on a stationairy bus and there is dialogue between Lisa and Sam).

End - Sad (This is for the bit where you see Lisa standing at the gate and when govener has his voice over).  

Music That we Have found and Beidi is going to get: 

• Beginning: - Pathfinder

• Middle: - Brighter Day - to start of the beginning of the middle section. Then onto Appalachian Sunrise for the rest of the middle section.

3d Max deleting my work again
